Default Some thoughts

Well lotta people seem very exicted about the Nighfall expansion or stand-alone game for others. I on the other hand have some negative thoughts.

The hero stuff could be fun and the possibilty to save a build is very good but frankly that should have been possible in Prophecies allready.
Tons of new skills again! We allready had 768+/- skills and we get even more (320 or something in total).
I don't think that a lot of people could oversee the possibilties with the skills we allready had and this expansion will make it worse.
Expect TA, HA and GvG (and other areas) to become a domain exclusively for highly specialised teams, consisting of kiddoes with so much time on their hands that they can play GW all day.

I certainly hope that the developpers read this because somehow i feel that they aren't the least interested in what the existing GW community would like to see or not.
For example a build-in auction house or sellers place.
Is it so hard to program?
Why do lots of other similair games have it and we not?
I had to bring useful greens to the merchant because i'm not gonna spam WTS... in a city for hours. I want to play the game and not waste my time on selling stuff.
Something else, what about "the VAULT"? Why is it so small that i can hold more stuff on a char (except for the materials)?
What about the bugs? Why are the bugs not being addressed?

Hmmz i should stop my rantings for now i guess.

Its already like that. FYI. There are 5-6 base builds (people can mod alittle bit) that everyone runs in HA if they want to have any hope of winning. GvG is alittle different, but basically theres a template you have to follow if you want to win on a consistent basis. More skills wont mean much, the builds will use the few skills they deem worth and and we'll have 290 or so more unused skills.

And Auction House, are you a programmer? I'll have you know it IS a task actually to design and execute an effective update like that. "Similar" games like WoW have it, but similar is NOT "the same". The server structure in Guild Wars for example would lead to some proplexing problems in implementing the auction system.

Anet has done nothing the last week or so that HASNT been in the direct interest of the community (Minus the little Henchie AI mixup).
1) They made maps remember that they were open on zoning.
2) They now show people leaving the guild
3) They enhanced the obs mode experience with new options
4) Added "U" map function in places like the Underworld
5) Several skill names and uses in Nightfall come directly from skill ideas brought up in this very forums suggestion area.

and so on.

Uuuh.. we DID ask for heroes... they can't do everything at one time.

Even so we don't know for sure that there WON'T be an auction house.

About the maps in FoW, UW and other places, each time you go there it's a blank. So it's to no use anyway because you will still have to navigate out of your memory of the place in the beginning. Also most maps are so undetailed that you can't read a certain path from them. You'll have to remember the easiest route, the map certainly won't help you with that, so basicly it's only very usable for people who want to become cartographers.

The guild history still doesn't show when an officer gets demoted for example. It will of course always be the guild leader who performs that operation. There is tons of stuff that could be useful in guild/alliance overview that's not implemented. Why not show how many guildies are online in guilds of your alliance? Why not show all the chars people have in your guild roster with professions as well? Why not show how many faction points guildies donated to the good cause? Etc, etc, etc.

Lots of stuff that Anet did do, should have been addressed in the first chapter i think.

Well i'm no professional programmer but did lotta hobby stuff in the past and certainly beyond "the hello world" level. I can't believe that it is a mission impossible to implement a sellers place/auction house in the game. It could be just a similiar service like the "friend server" in the game. Ehhh i suspect that they will have to dedicate a few servers for that so it's basicly a money thing. Hmmz i would have paid 65 USD/Euros for Factions as well if factions would have given us that possibilty.

Skills: It's nice that a few new skills have seen the light with the ideas of the Guru community but basicly there are to many skills and also to many useless ones.

An auction house will come, patience!

Templates, Heroes, Inscriptions, choosing what mods to to salvage...

Honestly, this is like a wet dream to me. I can't believe anyone would complain, this looks to be better than Prophecy and Factions combined.
